Sewing 2

Sorry I'm so late in doing this post. It is pretty busy if your being home-schooled !
To continue :
Now get a pattern of a simple skirt (better if it is A-line) and cut the pattern to the desired size. If you want to make it shorter or smaller, just fold it to the size desired, the pin after folding .
Then pin the pattern to the fabric making sure that one side is on the fabric 1/2 folded.

Then, cut the fabric on the part that is not folded as straight as you can .
After you have cut the the front, use the part you have cut out as a pattern for the back.
When you have finished cutting the skirt, get your shirt out . Measure from under your arms to your waist.Half the length is were you mark, then cut straight across to the other side of the shirt.
After that, start doing zig-zag all around the skirt. Then sew the skirt on the side together inside-out.
Now check that the stitches are not loose, because if it is, the dress could rip easily. Also, check that the stitches are not close to the edge, because it would rip too.
Now put together the bottom of the shirt to the top of the skirt. Make sure they fit together, then pin it, then sew it.
When you have finished sewing, mark out your hem. The hem is 5/8 of an inch, then sew.

When you have finished the dress, please tell me about it.
Thanks,
Andrea

WE ARE IN TOUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Jared had a very, I mean very, silly idea. Here are some pictures and I want you to see what is happening.
Here Jared is in real cuffs. This is how sin is when it has you. Then it is hard to get out of it.

And in this case my other brother who owns the cuffs leaves the key at work so my dad is going to take him to get the cuffs off:) But this is a very good lesson for all of us.
Well I hope you enjoyed it:)

Sewing...

Sorry it took so long to do a post. My life has been very interesting this month. It's also been a busy month. My mom is teaching us sewing. I say us, because it's with three other girls. There names are Genesis, Haviland and Adriana. It's very lively when they are at my house. In the sewing class, I made myself two dresses, one yellow, other red.
On the first lesson I made this dress. I used a
shirt and with a pattern cut out the skirt
then I made a mistake with the skirt and cut it to short
and then I had to add a ruffle. For a little decoration, I sewed
cuffs to the sleeves and added a sash. This is one of the only yellow
dresses, so my grandma was kind of surprised and pleased with it.
This is Genesis with her very pretty pink dress. She was the first one done and the first one out. She had a t-shirt, checked pink fabric and a very pretty ribbon.

Adriana with her dress. Her material for her dress was a hot pink shirt, the fabric has pink flowers in between pink stripes with a white background. Her dress design was almost the same as mine.
Havi being measured for her dress. The way you do these dresses is really simple.
Things you need:
Any plain color shirt,
2 1/2 yards of matching fabric (for size 10-14)
Options,
Matching ribbon ( for the waist).

I'll continue on the next post.

Our first Harvest!!!!!

Our first harvest was today and I ran to mother and said " Mom, there are green beans in the garden! We need a basket right now!." She gave me one and we started to pick!
The green beans and 1 yellow squash.

That is very good , right? Is it not beautiful and wonderful that God made the green beans and squash so that we might eat them? God is awesome.
Well, I hope that you enjoyed it.

Memorial Day

What a great Memorial Day!!! We met new people and now we have new friends.
We rode on an army transport truck.

Then we rode on an army jeep. That was the best ride I was ever on.

A General who has served for 27 years.

The Price brothers all served their country. Three were in WWII and one in the Korean War.

I want to thank all the men who fought for our freedom and remember all who died for us.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Let us pray for our country.
